Smash Burgers are so delicious because they are packed full of flavour. The pressing motion helps the beef patty caramelise and form a tasty crust while keeping all the juices inside.
4brioche or potato buns(buttered and lightly toasted)
4slicescheese (any cheese you like, we find American Burger cheese works best)
toppings(pickles, red onion, lettuce and sliced tomato)
Instructions
How to Make Smash Burgers
Mix the ground beef with the Big Dog Spices Loaded Burger seasoning until well combined. Hand mixing is best, as it will give you more control over how the mixture comes together.
Roll ground beef and seasoning mixture into 4 meatballs (150g each)
Preheat a flat-top griddle or heavy skillet over medium-high heat. The pan should be hot enough that a drop of water will sizzle and evaporate. Melt the butter on the griddle/skillet.
Place the meatballs onto the grill and, using a heavy press, smash them down until thin and flat. If you don’t have a heavy metal press, you can use a flat-bottomed pot or skillet.
Cook for about 4 minutes (or until golden brown) on one side before flipping over.
Add a slice of cheese on each patty during the last few minutes of cooking and cover with a pan lid to help melt the cheese.
Remove patties from the skillet, and let them rest for a few minutes before assembling burgers.
How to Make Big Dog Spices Special Sauce
Add all the special sauce ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly with a spoon or hand until well combined.
Assemble Smash Burger
